Key Components of Our Education Initiatives:

Non-Formal Primary Education (NFPE), Including Pre-School Education: We recognize the importance of early childhood education and, therefore, offer pre-school education as a foundational step in our educational programmes. NFPE caters to children who may not have access to formal schooling.

Adult Literacy Programmes: Beyond just focusing on children, POPI extends its educational reach to adults in the community. Adult literacy programmes empower adults with essential literacy and numeracy skills, enhancing their overall quality of life.

Adolescent Development Initiatives: Adolescents represent a crucial stage in a person's life, and POPI's programmes aim to nurture their physical, emotional, and social development. These initiatives empower adolescents to make informed decisions and lead healthier lives.

Support to Government Primary Schools (Quality Enhancement + School Feeding Programme): POPI collaborates with government primary schools to enhance the quality of education and ensure that students receive proper nutrition through the School Feeding Programme. Education Achievements:

In the fiscal years 2022-2023, POPI made significant strides in its education programmes. We successfully enrolled and provided quality education support to over 250,000 students, with girls making up 70% of this impressive number. This gender-inclusive approach is crucial in addressing gender disparities in education and promoting equal opportunities.

One of our most innovative and impactful initiatives is the establishment of boat schools. These floating schools are tailor-made solutions designed to address the unique challenges faced by children in poverty-stricken Haor regions. These areas often experience sudden changes in water levels and flooding, leading to school dropouts. The boat school concept provides a flexible and adaptive educational platform that reaches out to children who would otherwise be excluded from the education system.

Currently, POPI operates six boat schools in haor regions, creating a lifeline for many children who would otherwise remain out of school. These schools not only provide education but also offer a sense of hope and continuity in the lives of these young learners.
